The First Session of “Young Women Lead!”

December 14th, at The Mezzanine-Dean & Deluca, The International Republican Institute (IRI), in partnership with U.S. Embassy Bangkok launched the first of six sessions of “Young Women Lead!” (YWL!). YWL! is a program created to bring together promising Thai young women to participate in interactive workshops that explore the themes of women’s civic engagement and economic empowerment in Thailand. The First Session, entitled Women and Success: How to Break the Glass Ceiling, focused on the advancement of women in their workplaces. The panel of women leaders included Maneerat Anulomsombat, CEO, Garena Online (Thailand), Dr. Napassaporn Chamnansit, First Thai woman to reach Mount Everest, and Wasna Roongsaenthong, CEO, NaRaYa. These motivated women shared with participants firsthand accounts of how they have encountered and overcome the glass ceiling. After presentations, the forty young women participants, (primarily members of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Institute-YSEALI), had opportunity to ask specific questions to panelists during an inspiring Q&A session.
