Chef (Tam) Chudaree Debhakam, Thailand’s first “Top Chef” winner, whipped up a 5-course dinner incorporating U.S. and Thai ingredients to celebrate the launch of USDA’s American Inspired Chef Project, at the U.S. Ambassador Residence. Last night’s event was hosted by Chargé d’affaires Peter Haymond.
The American Inspired Chef Project will travel around Thailand to train young culinary chefs on American food products and to encourage a socially responsible mindset. The project will conclude with a cooking competition at the 2020 World of Food Asia where eight finalist selected through an online cooking contest will compete for a chance to win sponsorship for a short course at the Culinary Institute of America in California.
