On August 18, Chargé d’Affaires (CDA) Peter Haymond traveled to CentralWorld to speak at the opening of the “Discovery of Thailand’s Astronaut” Program, announcing the U.S. Embassy’s sponsorship of two scholarships for Thai students (ages 14-18) to attend U.S. Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama for 10 days. CDA Haymond was joined by the U.S. Space and Rocket Center’s Director of Outreach Tom White to announce the program, and both spoke about the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education and space exploration.
