Young Women Lead!

Application Deadline: July 21, 2016

U.S. Embassy Bangkok announces the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for a new program whose goal is to debate and discussion the expansion of young women’s political, economic and social leadership in Thailand. The program will support the following activities: organizing a series of six sessions for young women leaders, ages 18-35, from Post’s Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative network. The partner should develop a six-month series based on themes pertaining to civic engagement and economic development/entrepreneurship. The partner should identify appropriate speakers for each session, organizing group Q & A and interaction. Each speaker session should be livestreamed. Video clips should be obtained from each speaker. Participants will be asked to engage, as part of their commitment to the series, in mentorship of a younger girl, aged 15-17. The partner will work with Post to identify younger girls to act as mentees of YSEALI members. These girls may include graduates of our Access program or female students enrolled in Teach for Thailand schools. Partner should identify a suitable venue and make all logistical and technical arrangements. Five of the sessions should take place in Bangkok and one should take place in Chiang Mai. The partner should create a summary of the series with key themes and tips for success identified, that could be shared with other Southeast Asian posts upon completion of the series.

Eligibility for this NOFO is limited to: educational and research institutions, non- governmental organizations, for-profit or social enterprises.
