The Media and Cultural Section of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok advises the U.S. Ambassador on issues of public diplomacy, including media relations, and is headed by the Counselor for Public Affairs. The Media and Cultural Section conducts information and cultural programs on behalf of the U.S. Government in Thailand and is undertaken in cooperation with the bureaus supervised by the Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs.
Cultural Section
The Cultural Section provides educational and cultural services listed separately on this home page. We work closely with the other elements of the U.S. Mission as well as with many Thai organizations to encourage broader understanding of the United States and its relationship with Thailand. Through seminars, exhibits, speakers and other programs, the Section encourages the sharing of ideas between Thais and Americans on a wide variety of topics.

Media Section
The Media Section provides the Thai media and public accurate information about U.S. policy and activities. The Media Section organizes a broad range of informational programs, coordinates press events for Embassy personnel and visiting USG officials, responds to press inquiries, issues press releases and media advisories on U.S. policy and Mission activities, arranges press conferences and media roundtables for USG visitors, arranges media outreach activities, and manages the Embassy’s website and social media accounts.
