Continuing the celebration of the 200 years of friendship between the U.S. and Thailand, on February 27, Charge d’Affaires Peter Haymond, Mrs. Haymond and Dr. Joanne Hyppolite of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture visited Sibuathong SUPPORT Foundation Center and Model Farm Project under the Royal Initiative of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit in Angthong province. They were welcomed by Deputy Private Secretary to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit Thanpuying Dr. Pharani Mahanonda, Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles’ Board Member Thanpuying Oranush Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya and Director Piyavara Teekara Natenoi. Dr. Joanne Hyppolite gave a special presentation on “African American Culture” to 100 high school students from Angthong Patthamaroj Wittayakom School. Thanpuying Dr. Pharani and Thanpuying Oranush led the group to view the Center’s facilities, including rice planting, silk weaving, and embroidery. The visit was part of Dr. Hyppolite’s 2 week visit to Thailand to celebrate Black History Month.
