On February 23, Ambassador Glyn Davies joined Royal Thai Armed Forces Chief of the Joint Staff General Tarnchaiyan Srisuwan in presiding over the Cobra Gold 2017 Humanitarian Civic Action (HCA) Site One dedication ceremony at Ban Non Lueam School in Nakhon Ratchasima. Cobra Gold 2017 includes a total of six HCA projects to construct multi-purpose buildings at schools in Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Buriram, Chantaburi, and Rayong provinces. The multi-purpose room constructed at the site is intended to primarily be used as the school’s library, with the additional function of a community center for the five surrounding villages. This project brought together military engineers from Thailand, the U.S., the People’s Republic of China (PRC), and India, and highlights the contribution that the Cobra Gold exercise makes to local Thai civilian communities. The relationships among our dedicated servicemen and women forged in Cobra Gold strengthen regional security cooperation.
