Chargé d’Affaires Peter M. Haymond attended the Cyclotron Rigging Ceremony, held at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital on June 20, 2019. The ceremony was presided over by H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sinrindhorn, Executive Vice-President of the Thai Red Cross Society, operator of the hospital.
Varian’s Proton system is a revolutionary and innovative cancer treatment with highest conformity which allows patients to receive greatest dose of radiation with less risk of damage to nearby healthy tissues. This Proton Center at Chulalongkorn Hospital will be the first center in Southeast Asia. The project is valued Thai Baht 1.2 billion or US$ 36 million.
