Camp GLOW/BROS in Chiang Rai

The U.S. Embassy supported Camp GLOW/BROS organized by Ban Ta Ma Rak, a non-profit organization together with Peace Corps Thailand December 8-15, 2016 in Chiang Rai Rajabhat in Chiang Rai province. Camp GLOW (Girls Leading Our World) was created in 1995 by Peace Corps Volunteers and local teachers in Romania in order to encourage and empower young women to become active citizens by building self-esteem and confidence. Camp BROS (Boys Respecting Others and SELF) was added in order to bring awareness and empowerment to boys’ role in creating a gender equitable world.

The camp is part of Let Girls Learn Initiative (https://letgirlslearn.gov/) created by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
