On June 30, Ambassador Glyn T. Davies visited the National Defense College (NDC), Thailand’s highest educational institution in the field of strategy and security studies. Ambassador Davies was welcomed by NDC Superintendent Lieutenant General Chaianan Jantakananuruk and addressed 200 students and faculty on United States policy in Asia. Stressing that the U.S. rebalance towards Asia has become the “new normal” of U.S. foreign policy, Ambassador Davies highlighted the expanding breadth of U.S. cooperation with the region on trade, commerce, security, and people-to-people exchanges that promote shared prosperity. The event was also attended by senior officers from the military, police, government ministries, and international students enrolled in the college.
