On June 1, Ambassador and Mrs. Davies and an Embassy team visited Suphanburi, a beautiful province located in the central plain region of Thailand known for its rich history and culture. The Ambassador met with Governor Supeepat Jongpanich to discuss a wide range of topics from education, tourism, and agriculture. He also visited Wat Pa lelai—one of the most important temples in the province—to learn about the magnificent Buddha image, Luang Pho To, and to pay respects to the late Prime Minister Banharn Silpa-Archa, whose remains are currently located at Wat Pa lelai for a 100-day chanting service. The Ambassador later spoke to students and faculty at the Kannasoot Suksalai High School about the importance of education and learning English and ended the day with an interview with Radio Thailand.
