Ambassador Davies and Mission Thailand staff traveled to Phrae province on May 18 to learn about vocational opportunities in Phrae, visit the Seri Thai Museum to learn about U.S.-Thai relations during World War II, and to celebrate the role of U.S. Missionaries in northern Thailand at a 120 year old American missionary house. The Ambassador also toured the facilities of Yok Lai, a women’s entrepreneur group for indigo textiles in Phrae, and visited Wongburi House. During his trip, he discussed the role of soccer in Thai society and provincial economics with Mr. Pongsawad Supasiri, the Chairman of Phrae United, and was interviewed by local DJ, Sumeth Muang Phrae. The trip concluded with Ambassador having dinner with local leaders to discuss developments in Phrae.
