On September 19, Ambassador and Mrs. Davies and an Embassy team visited Trat Province, an eastern province located on the border with Cambodia and known for its unique history and natural beauty. The Ambassador and Mrs. Davies began with a tour of a marine conservation project in Trat Bay, during which he met with researchers from Thailand’s Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, in order to continue the promotion of Secretary Kerry’s “Our Oceans” initiative and highlight a project co-sponsored by San Francisco State University. This was followed by meetings with Governor Channa Iamseng, the Vice Chair of the Thai Fishery Association, Kitti Kosinkin, as well as former Minister of Culture Teera Slukpetch. The Ambassador went on to give remarks at a social media training event for local journalists and concluded his trip with an interview with Radio Thailand.
