Ambassador Davies and DCM Haymond at ILEA

Ambassador Glyn Davies gave opening remarks at the International Law Enforcement Academy’s (ILEA) 2nd Annual Alumni event September 21. More than 150 Thai officials representing Thai law enforcement agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were joined by U.S. Embassy officials at the event. “This joint effort between Thailand and the United States is a shining example of the positive impact we have when we work together on issues of mutual importance,” said Ambassador Davies. “This academy has resulted in strengthened partnerships and cooperation not only between the United States and Thailand, but between law enforcement communities across Asia.” Earlier that day, Deputy Chief of Mission Peter Haymond, along with Police Lt. General Kamrob Panyakaew, co-chaired the ILEA Bangkok annual Joint Committee meeting. ILEA Bangkok is a joint U.S. – Thai funded organization focused on strengthening partnerships among law enforcement organizations to address criminal activities such as narcotics, terrorism, trafficking and other transnational crimes.
