Seventy Access Microscholarship students from Ubon Ratchathani visited the U.S. Embassy August 29 and put their new English communication skills to good use. They participated in language activities with our English Language Fellows and were inspired by alumni from YSEALI (Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative) who spoke about their exchange experiences in the U.S. The Access students also learned about free academic advising opportunities through EducationUSA. This visit, organized by the Embassy’s Regional English Language Office, was the first trip to Bangkok for many of the students. Access is a global scholarship program supported by the U.S. Department of State that provides a foundation of English language skills to talented teenagers from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
